During June 1998 this journal was updated daily, tracking the progress of the carving. Click on the dates above to see details of the events taking place during the visit by the Nuu-chah-nulth Nation.

The totem pole left Vancouver Island on April 26th 1998 from where it travelled overland to Montreal. It left Canada on 3rd May by ship and arrived in Felixstowe, UK on 10th May. The pole travelled by road to Exeter, arriving on 4th June, and was formally welcomed into the Museum on 5th June. Here is a map of its journey to Exeter.
