great crown: Adenla
Glass beads, cotton. Ht.= 273mm
State crown of an Oba. Beads sewn onto canvas base, lined with
red felt. On the top of the crown is a bird with blue underside, the rest
white. Between the faces are four pairs of birds. The power of kingship
resides in this type of crown.
Obtained by Pinkett between about 1900 and 1910.
